Ego, Id & Super Ego

Freud's psychoanalysis theory

The human personality is quite complex and consists of three parts that influence all our behavior, that is, according to Freud's psychological theory.

One of the three parts that influence our personality is, the instinct, which is known as Id, it contains the sexual and aggressive force, the invisible memories, these are the ones we have in our memory, but we do not have them present, it is as if we do not remember what happened, but it is there in our memory.

The second part is morality, the super ego, is in charge of the moral conscience.

The third part is the realistic part and this is the ego.

The ego is the arbiter between the ID and the super ego, that is between the instinctive part and morality, each of these three parts develops throughout our life, so for you to understand more clearly what I am talking about I want you to imagine that your ego is your internal judge, also all of us have the naughty part which is the ID and why is it the naughty part? It is because it is uncontrolled by immediate gratification, it is driven by all our wants, needs and desires. For example, all babies have the quiet instinct part, they have no ego yet and no super ego, they just live their baby lives from instinct, that is, because babies are driven by immediate gratification, they do not reason yet, that is why if the baby is hungry, sleepy or dirty, it cries a lot until those needs are satisfied.

Our good part is the super ego, it is that little inner voice that stops us when we are going to do something that is wrong, that is not moral, that we know is wrong.

The three parts, although, each one is independent and has its unique elements, they come together and are the ones that create our personality in our behaviors, according to this psychological theory, our ego has been designed by the influence of the outside world, another example that I love that goes around, to have more clear this theory is to imagine that the air is like a horse, our ego is the person who rides or directs this horse and our super ego is the one that directs us, it tells us which direction we should take, it is the one that tells us what is right or wrong, this super ego is the moral value of society, the quality of the super ego of each person depends on his childhood, especially of his parents, it is the part of our conscience and that conscience we acquired especially in the way we were educated.

All people who manage to have a healthy ego, will be able to enjoy self-control or those who have self-control means that they have a healthy ego. In the hands of all of us who are parents or those who have children around us is to guide them to have a healthy ego, an awakened super ego, that is a very good conscience and a healthy air also so they can be good human beings, according to this theory our behaviors were designed directly by our parents so if you realize that unfortunately your behaviors are not so good because of your childhood, do not worry about it, the most beautiful thing is that you can work on it, you can improve and you can day by day improve those behaviors, work towards having a healthy ego.

This has a solution, and that is a nice thing, because it does not mean that those who unfortunately had careless parents and did not have a very good childhood, it does not mean that they are going to be condemned for the rest of their lives to have an unhealthy ego, you can if you are aware of it you can work to improve, correct this and design a healthy ego.
