What is Coaching, what is it

for and how does it work?

You will learn about coaching,I will be sharing the history of coaching, what and how it works for, I will talk to you about the process and so on.

I would like to start with a phrase that goes hand in hand with professional coaching and it is the following; give a man a fish and he will eat one day, teach a man to fish and he will eat forever.

Life coaching is the art of helping you discover and develop your full potential. The birth of the coaching discipline comes from centuries ago, from the use of a method called mayeutics or Socratic method, which consists of the same process of a coaching session, that is, the professional asks powerful, exact and concrete questions, until the person finds his own solutions and discovers ideas that he was completely unaware that they were in his secret mind.

If you are interested in professional coaching, the first step is to be clear about what you want these coaching sessions for, if you are not clear don't worry, you can discover it through the first one. Sometimes people have quite specific and clear objectives, but believe me most of the time they don't. Most people use their first coaching session as a starting point. Most people use their first coaching session to clarify, discover, find, find, that adjective they want to work towards and be clear that this adjective can change in the process of the coaching sessions.

Coaching sessions consist of the beginning of a transformation journey, in which the coach and the mentee establish a serious, clear and specific commitment, given by a protocol aimed at maintaining step by step in the structure already designed in the first or second session, what the mentee needs to work on, that is to say, to put into action.

The time of each session is approximately between 30 to 45 minutes normally, although there are cases that can last up to an hour.

I'm going to briefly share the levels of coaching.

Level 0. Defining the mental state of the pupil, by means of concise questions and creating a safe space will reveal the mental state of the pupil.

Level 1. Establish goals and purposes to accomplish, this level is essential to start and embark on this process or this beautiful path called coaching, also sets the ultimate goal that is expected to obtain at the end of this beautiful process of transformation.

Level 2. Design the plan. Once the purpose is defined, it will be seen how to reach this goal. The coach and mentee will create a realistic and strategic plan of action to support the path to the end goal.

Level 3. Execute the plan, this level is the longest of the previous ones already mentioned, because in this step it is defined if the mentee is going to achieve or not his objectives, his main goal, this level the coach accompanies the mentee as long as necessary, working on limiting beliefs, obstacles and everything that is necessary, until the final objective is achieved, to keep the mentee on track and focused on his final goal.

Level 4. Reviewing and learning. It is time to reflect and analyze possible scenarios. Scenario A, the mentee did not achieve his objectives, did not achieve his main goal, then you have to analyze why the mentee did not achieve it, and design from level 0 a new strategy. Scenario B, the mentee achieved his or her objectives, but there are more things to work on, so this means that the coaching journey still continues. Scenario C, the mentee achieved his goals, feels satisfied, happy, so this means that the coaching journey is finished.

If coaching has caught your attention, I invite you to let the magic of coaching happen in your life.
